Here is short post about when to knock in Gin Rummy

If you play Gin, you want to play in order to win, Winning at Gin Rummy is not easy and you must use all your Rummy skills.

Play Gin Rummy to knock. This is the goal of the game, knock and knocks smartly, and you are the winner. If you are playing to win and most of your cards are all matched, try to go Gin. Going Gin is when you have no unmatched card AKA deadwood cards. This is the best way to win because the bonus if higher. If you have too much deadwood cards and you still think you are better than other players, make sure your deadwood is lower than 10 and knock.

Basically, play Gin to Knock.
