Rummy – card games

Play commences with the person on the dealer’s left. The lowest card in his hand must be played regardless of its suit. Subsequently the player with the next highest card in the suit plays it, etc, until either the ace is played by someone or a card from the rummy hand is played. Following the completion of the sequence, the player who last played a card starts the next round by throwing out the lowest value card in an opposite-colored suit from the previous round. If he does not have a playable card, the turn defaults to the left.

The black 10 of spades was laid down in play. Because the dummy hand held the Jack of Spades, the sequence was halted. The same Gin Rummy player then initiated a brand-new sequence by putting forth the three of hearts. If it should happen that this player and no other player is holding a red card in their playing hand, the play goes back to the person who played first, who is now allowed to play a card of the same color.

The only instance in which a player may collect on a money card is when he throws out said card during his proper turn. Whenever he gets to play what is considered a money card, he gets all the chips that are in the designated area. When you play Free Rummy games, some cards that are considered “money” cards (7, 8, 9 of any suit) or Q, K of Hearts have to be used in sequence
